These designs represent a combination of standard-setting favorites like the Anser and newer, tour-inspired models like the DS72, the choice of multiple-time winner Viktor Hovland. A premium level of precision and detail, each precisely milled and carefully crafted from forged 303 stainless steel.
As we collaborate on new designs with our engineers and tour staff, we’ll add new models to the PLD Milled family to bring you tour-proven performance on the putting green.
Quality and precision
A solid block of forged, 303 stainless steel requires more than four hours of milling time; precisely shaping every surface and radius to achieve the high quality and premium look expected in a precision-milled putter.
Tour proven
A variety of tour-inspired options ensures a model to fit your stroke and eye. Each design incorporates PING’s proven perimeter-weighting theories to deliver forgiveness and control for more accuracy.
Control and consistency
A precision-milled face pattern, known as deep AMP (Aggressive Milling Pattern), is inspired by tour player feedback and provides the feel and speed control you need to deliver score-lowering consistency on the green.

PING GLIDE 4.0 WEDGE
A precision-machined face and grooves and new textured face blast increase spin and consistency, a larger activated elastomer insert helps soften the feel, and four distinct grind options maximize versatility on full and finesse shots. The compact, refined profile provides a confident and captured look at address.
8620 Carbon Steel Body, Elastomer CTP Insert
The multi-material construction combines 8620 carbon steel with a larger and softer activated elastomer insert to provide a soft, responsive feel. The additional volume of the insert allows for 36% more face contact.
Milled Grooves & Face Blast
In combination with the precision-milled face and grooves, the new Emery face blast adds more texture to the hitting surface, creating higher friction and more interaction between the club and ball for more spin and lower launch.
Compact Shape
The Glide 4.0 setup appeals to the eye with its rounded, compact design that benefits from advancements to the lead edge and hosel transition.
Full Shots
The grooves in the lower-lofted wedges (46°, 50° & 52°) are milled with a 20° sidewall and a .005″ edge radius for optimal full-shot performance.
Around the Green
The higher-lofted versions (54°, 56°, 58° & 60°) are milled to a .004″ edge radius with a 28° sidewall to impart more spin, especially around the greens.
‘E’ Grind (Eye2)
The PING Eye2 wedge face profile inspired the “E” grind, distinguished by the high-toe design made popular by Karsten Solheim’s iconic sand wedge from the early 1980s. It features a blended hosel and dished sole design similar to the original Eye2.

With the length of a putter (35”) and a loft closer to a 9-iron (38.5°), the ChipR is designed to be used on shots of 40 yards or less around the green with a putting-like stroke, resulting in bump-and-run style shots that ensure the distance control and consistency that lead to shorter putts.
“Applying a putting-style stroke takes a lot of the margin for error out of chip shots and is more comfortable for a lot of golfers,” Solheim said. “Knowing that, we’re building the ChipR at our standard putter length and lie angle to make setting up to the ball easier while providing the right amount of loft to get the ball in the air and eventually rolling closer to the hole. We recommend applying the same amount of force for a putt of the same distance. A lot of golfers will be amazed at how easy it is to use and more importantly, the number of strokes they’ll be saving.”
The ChipR’s compact size and shallow face combine with the cambered sole to optimize performance and provide versatility from the rough and fringe. The precision-milled MicroMax grooves deliver consistent and predictable trajectories for improved control.
“We designed the ChipR to fit seamlessly into a golfer’s set,” Solheim said. “Whether they replace an existing wedge or another club in their bag, it’s a tremendous option to save strokes around the green. Just like all our clubs, it’s forgiving and can be custom fit and custom built to match the needs of the player. We’re excited to get it into golfers’ hands so they can share their results with us, and their playing partners can ask them how their short game got so good.”

A new face blast adds friction to increase spin and control across a newly expanded range of lofts and sole grinds to fit your game.

PING engineers conferred with our Tour staff and brand ambassadors in designing Glide Forged Pro to appeal to players who put a premium on precise, consistent shot making into and around the green.
Compact Profile, Captured Look
The smaller heel-to-toe head, which is forged from 8620 carbon steel, creates a captured look at address, giving you the confidence to manipulate the head and execute any type of shot with maximum versatility for predictable results.
Friction Face
Combined with a precision-milled face and grooves, a new face blast adds texture to the hitting surface, creating friction and more interaction between the club and ball for more spin and lower launch. The hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish ensures consistent results from wet and rough conditions.
Eye2 Toe 59°
The PING EYE2 wedge face profile inspired the “S” grind 59° option, which is distinguished by the high toe design made popular by Karsten Solheim’s iconic sand wedge developed in the early 1980s. It features a blended hosel and a more traditional sole design than the original with approximately 1.5° less bounce than the other “S” grind lofts.

Two grind options, “S” and “T”, in multiple lofts expand the offerings to ensure a wedge choice to match your angle of attack and most common playing conditions. Eight custom grinds are available through PING Wrx, where we custom build Tour and college equipment.
