HOW DOES THE SHAFT OPTIMIZER WORK?
The Shaft Optimizer is a hittable seven iron, with internal strain gauges, micro-processors and a gyro – that combine to capture over 40 unique swing data points. Measuring how players load and unload the shaft during their swing.
The swing data is sent via Bluetooth from the Optimizer to the Swing DNA app, where it maps out your entire bag.

01 – It takes just three swings – To recommend iron lie angle, shaft, set makeup, hybrid shaft, metal-wood shaft and ball model
02 – No such thing as a bad swing day – The Optimizer only measures how you load the shaft – not where the ball goes. So even if your ball striking is inconsistent at the fitting – the Optimizer can still accurately map your swing.
03 – No handicap, age or gender bias – The Optimizer can only see your swing and won’t have any preconceptions based on your handicap, age or gender.
04 – Reduces ‘fitting fatigue’ – By reducing over 50 possible shaft choices to a shortlist of 3. Even the fittest players fatigue after 20 minutes of hitting balls.

Yes – as no two brands measure the same way. With so many new shafts coming onto the market, there is likely to be an option that did not exist during your last session. We always recommend spending the time on a new fitting with every order.
THREE SWINGS – 8 KEY MEASUREMENTS
Among the 40 Shaft Optimizer measurements, eight critical elements are used to identify a player’s shaft shortlist and lie angle. Three swings are enough to build the Swing DNA profile. Players are always surprised how consistent their Swing DNA numbers are across all three swings.
01 – HEAD SPEED
The starting point to deciding shaft flex –loft and set-makeup.
02 – TEMPO
The transition duration into downswing. In combination with head speed, tempo helps pinpoint an ideal shaft flex and weight.
03 – TOE DOWN
Measures how much the shaft bows downwards through the swing.
04 – KICK ANGLE
Level of shaft forward bend during the downswing.
05 – RELEASE FACTOR
The point at which the clubhead and shaft are released in the downswing. A late release (1-3) normally benefits from a firmer tipped shaft. An early release (7-9) are normally more effective with a softer tipped shaft.
06 – DIGITAL LIE ANGLE
An inbuilt Gyro measures the swing plane in 3D space for a more accurate, lie angle reading.
07 – ATTACK ANGLE
Selects the right ball model based on its spin characteristic.
08 – SHAFT LEAN
Narrows ball selection based on efficient launch angle.
