1959 – Karsten Solheim putts with his first prototype putter head with a tuning-fork-like construction makes a ‘ping’ sound when impacting the ball. Karsten runs into the kitchen and announces to his wife, Louise, “I’ve got a name for my putter!” Soon thereafter, he files for a patent on the PING 1-A putter. The patent was granted three years later.

Ping was the first manufacturer to offer high-quality cast clubs using investment casting. This process reduced costs while providing better quality control for high-tech features, and set the foundation for manufactured fitting.

Ping was the first to offer factory club fitting, via a variety of clubheads in different lies and offsets. In 1980, Ping began offering their fitting program based on a checklist of the player’s physical characteristics, common problems, and distances.

PING INC. is an American sports equipment manufacturing company based in Phoenix, Arizona. It focuses on golf equipment, producing golf clubs and golf bags. The company was founded by Karsten Solheim, following a career as an engineer at the General Electric company. In 1959, he started making putters in his garage in Redwood City, California. In 1967, he resigned from his job at General Electric to develop the PING company.

PING G430 MAX Drivers

We took the game’s most forgiving driver (that also ranks as one of the longest) and made it even longer, while producing a more pleasing sound. A new face-design optimization leads to increased flexing for a big distance gain, and a 25-gram moveable backweight positions the CG to influence shot shape. Available in 9°, 10.5° and 12°.

  • Optimized T9S+ Forged Face
A shallower, variable-thickness face and the transition design create more deflection to generate faster ball speed for our biggest distance gains to date.
  • Sound Engineering
Research into audio frequencies and harmonics led engineers to create a new internal rib structure and increase the curvature (stiffness) of the crown, skirt and sole, resulting in a desirable sound and impact experience.

  • Spinsistency
A variable roll radius creates less loft low on the face to improve performance by reducing spin, resulting in faster speeds that generate consistently longer drives.

  • Most Forgiveness
To optimize ball flight and maximize distance while retaining the highest MOI in PING’s history, a 25-gram, high-density tungsten backweight can be moved to position the CG for delivering ±8 yards change between the Draw, Neutral and Fade settings.

  • Adjust Loft, Lie
Trajectory Tuning 2.0 utilizes a lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions to customize your trajectory for maximum distance and accuracy.

  • Trajectory Tuning Chart
The lightweight, 8-position hosel enables adjustments for loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than std.) to further dial in your ball flight for the best results.

  • G430 High Launch (HL)
In testing, slower-swing-speed golfers gained an average of nine yards off the tee from faster ball speed generated by the lighter system weight of the HL custom build (11g backweight, PING Alta Quick shaft, and Lamkin UTx Lite grip). Available in MAX and SFT models.

  • PING-Engineered Shafts
The PING Alta CB Black offers mid-high to high launch, the PING Tour 2.0 Chrome mid launch, and the PING Tour 2.0 Black promotes the lowest trajectory.

  • Optional Shafts
The Project X Hzrdus Smoke Red RDX provides a higher launch, the Mitsubishi Kai’Li White launches lower.

PING G430 MAX Fairways

You can size up long approach shots with 100% confidence that your G430 fairway will get you home. We’re introducing Carbonfly Wrap technology to deliver more distance by positioning the CG closer to the force line to maximize ball speed, resulting in higher, longer carries. MAX available in 3W, 5W, 7W, 9W.

  • Carbonfly Wrap – Carbonfly Wrap, an ultra-lightweight composite crown, wraps into the heel and toe sections of the skirt. Weight savings are reallocated to lower the CG and increase ball speed and MOI (forgiveness). The composite also plays a role in the pleasing sound.
  • Facewrap Technology – The variable-thickness, high-strength maraging steel face wraps into the sole and crown, and it’s thin to flex more, generating faster ball speed with higher launch for greater distance.
  • Spinsistency – A variable roll radius creates less loft low on the face to improve performance (especially on thin shots) by reducing spin, resulting in faster speeds that generate consistently longer results.
  • Adjust Loft, Lie – Trajectory Tuning 2.0 utilizes a lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions to customize your trajectory for maximum distance and accuracy.
  • Trajectory Tuning Chart – The lightweight, 8-position hosel enables adjustments for loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than std.) to further dial in your ball flight for the best results.
  • G430 High Launch (HL) – A 5.5-gram aluminum backweight, PING Alta Quick shaft (35/45), and 41-gram Lamkin UTx Lite grip make up the lighter HL build so players with slower swing speeds can generate more clubhead speed to produce faster ball velocity and higher launch.
  • PING-Engineered Shafts – The PING Alta CB Black offers mid-high to high launch, the PING Tour 2.0 Chrome mid launch, and the PING Tour 2.0 Black promotes the lowest trajectory.
  • Optional Shafts – The Project X Hzrdus Smoke Red RDX provides a higher launch, the Mitsubishi Kai’Li White launches lower.

PING ICROSSOVER

Newly designed with proven Trajectory Tuning 2.0 adjustability, this compact design for better players elevates long-iron performance from a lower CG and maraging steel face that generate faster speed and higher launch to carry shots farther with stopping power. An EVA polymer enhances feel and sound. The rounded lead edge optimizes turf interaction, a toe screw and tip weight increase MOI, and shorter club lengths ensure better control. Available in 2, 3, 4.

  • Maraging Steel Face – High ball speed comes from the thin, maraging steel face and lower CG position, which is closer to the impact location to produce more energy transfer. Precision-milled MicroMax grooves and the matte-black hydropearl 2.0 finish deliver consistent launch and spin from dry and wet conditions for more accuracy.
  • Easy Adjustability – New to an iron-style design is the ability to dial in your desired ball flight quickly and easily using the lightweight adjustable hosel that provides eight clearly marked settings to customize your trajectory for maximum distance and accuracy.
  • Trajectory Tuning Chart – Trajectory Tuning 2.0 utilizes a lightweight, 8-position hosel that you can adjust with a range of ±1.5° for loft and lie in various combinations, fine-tuning your ball flight for the best results.
  • Tour-Inspired Design – Blade lengths are slightly shorter with less offset than previous crossovers, providing a compact, tour-style appearance. To fit seamlessly into a set, standard shaft lengths are approximately ¼” shorter, and sole shaping is similar to the i230 irons, including a rounded lead edge with ample bounce for clean, solid strikes.
  • Low CG, High Launch – The face is robotically welded to the 17-4 stainless steel body with a lower-hinged bend point to provide higher launch for better stopping power. A smaller internal cavity with targeted EVA polymer behind the face ensures a pleasing feel and sound. Tungsten toe and shaft tip weights elevate MOI for forgiveness.
  • Custom-Fit Shaft – The PING Tour 2.0 Chrome 85 graphite can be custom fit for higher swing speeds, delivering low to mid launch and spin with stability for consistent trajectories.
  • Optional Stock Shafts – PING ALTA CB Black delivers mid-to-high trajectories with stability and a consistent feel. Hzrdus Smoke Red RDX suits faster swings but has an active tip section for mid launch and spin. Kai’li White promotes low launch and low spin; a reinforced tip promotes center impact and tighter dispersion.

PING G430 Irons

Your shot making and your confidence will be sky high with the G430, which combines a lower CG with stronger lofts and a thinner face that deliver faster ball speed and significant distance gains without compromising PING’s famous forgiveness. The PurFlex cavity badge contributes to our longest iron ever. Available 4-PW, 45.5°, 50°, 54°, 58°.

  • Faster Ball Speed – A proprietary heat-treating process creates Hyper 17-4 stainless steel and strengthens the face, allowing for more flexing, generating faster ball speed and a higher max height to hold shots on the green.
  • PurFlex Technology – An innovative new badge with seven flex zones allows for more free bending to increase ball speed across the face for longer results. In combination with a lower CG, the badge contributes to the solid feel and pleasing impact sound.
  • Shaped For Success – The more compact shape provides a clean look. The shorter hosel helps lower the CG and align it with the force line to increase ball speed and ensure solid impact, especially low on the face. A hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish delivers consistency from wet or dry grass.
  • Solid, Forgiving – Tungsten toe and shaft tip weights contribute to its extreme MOI, and approximately 1° of additional bounce ensures clean turf interaction and pure strikes, minimizing “heavy” shots that come up short.
  • Gapping Solution – The stronger lofts across the set resulted in the addition of a 41° PW to ensure proper gapping options and allowed for standard lofts in the traditional scoring wedges (45.5°, 50°, 54°, 58°).
  • G430 High Launch (HL) – The lighter PING Alta Quick (35/45) shaft is one component of the HL build that includes a 41-gram Lamkin UTx Lite grip, and lighter toe and tip weights in the head, all designed to help slower-swing-speed players increase clubhead speed and ball velocity.
