My Fiancè and I decided recently to take up golf as a new hobby to learn together. We wanted to begin on the right foot, so we found Barla Golf Academy through a google search and reading reviews. We are so happy that we had lessons with Scott! He is very informative and professional and truly cares about helping you improve throughout the lesson. He also utilizes an app that you have access to between lessons, where you can watch videos of your previous lessons as well as tips from Scott as he narrates throughout. It really helps seeing that video of your swing and what you need to work on. We are looking forward to our next lesson.

Absolutely an amazing place. Found it through their support of PGA Hope, a program for veterans, that I was participating in as a disabled veteran. Learned golf for the first time in my life here, with an amazing local community of veterans, through the support of Scott, his staff, and volunteers.

Fell in love with golf at this place, and now I have my own set of custom fit clubs through Scott.

A few of the things I like is the fact that Scott is great at keeping folks looped into all the happenings, and helps provide a sense of community. I’m not from Indiana, so it’s nice to finally find a community through Scott and Team.

Also, Scott has an amazing system that sends me text and email updates, making it easy to know things such as when our veteran program is meeting, or when Scott is hosting an event at his shop.

Lastly, the thing I appreciate the most is Scott’s sincere dedication to golf, veterans, and everyone he meets. He takes time to listen, he steps up to include you, and he is always there to help.

Check out this place, and consider shopping there to support a pillar in the local community, and someone who is also giving his all to the local community of veterans.

I had a great experience taking lessons and being fitted for Ping i230s for this upcoming season. Scott and the team are always very helpful and informative. I highly recommend Barla Golf Academy if you are in the market for new clubs/equipment or are just looking to tune up your swing!

Since I’m just getting into golf I wanted to be sure I was working with the best instructor in my area. After tons of research on costs, instructors, and experience I’m so happy that I decided to go with Scott at Barla Golf Academy! He is so incredibly knowledgeable in the fundamentals of the sport and after just one lesson I’ve been told by others JUST how MUCH better my form and swing is. If you are a beginner and are scared of looking absolutely ridiculous (like I was).. don’t worry at all, Scott is so encouraging and keeps the whole lesson fun and has tons of exercises that will whip that form into shape QUICKLY! I’m looking forward to having many more lessons with Scott in the future!

Highly recommend Scott! He is an incredible instructor and you will see game improvement with his direction. He is very knowledgeable and tailors his instruction to your individual needs. Very happy we found him!!

Scott is great to work with. The best part is the continuity between lessons. Scott utilizes and app that allows you to review notes and videos from your previous lessons. It feels like you are building towards something. Prior lessons I had felt disjointed and every lesson seemed like I was starting from scratch.

I’ve been golfing for roughly 15 years and never had a lesson. This a was a great first experience and will be coming back. Highly recommend for those who prefer a data analytics, technology, and biomechanics based approach over the “at the range” feel approach.

Coach Scott was so easy to work with during my fitting. He took in to consideration my physical issues and explained everything so I could understand what he was looking at and what he was looking for. My game will now change dramatically due to having the right equipment for my golf game. Can’t thank the barla academy enough.

Being a retired woman and a novice in golf Barla Golf Academy got me on the right track. Scott evaluated my skill level and matched me with the correct clubs. I already see improvement in my game.

Very impressive graphics in simulator. Several bays for practice or playing courses. Putting areas. A lounge with snacks for people to work, do homework, or watch TV. The place recently expanded to accommodate more golfers.

Scott is extremely knowledgeable and understands everyone is different and sets his program to you and your ability. He does not use one format for everyone and then he figures out what type and style of swing you are and makes sure you understand that. He then use techniques that help improve your golf game. In just one session I now understand what type of swing I truly have and can take the techniques I was given and work to make my swing more consistent and improve my swing and lower my scores. I know Scott from High School and can see he is dedicated to his craft. If you live in the area and want to understand and improve your game get to the Barla Golf Academy and get started. Become a member it is a great value and well worth it. I’m from Michigan and I will try to get down as often as I can to work with Scott to learn and improve my game as much as possible. Took my daughter to get fitted for clubs and had a wonderful experience. Scott Barla, and his technology, were extremely helpful in selecting the right clubs for her swing. The amount of data provided is amazing and I would recommend Barla Golf to anyone interested in finding out the best club for their game. You won’t be disappointed.

Great 1st visit to the newly opened Barla Golf Academy on Herriman. I’ve been playing golf for 25 years and have developed 25 years of bad habits. Scott Barla analyzed my swing and help me understand some of the mechanics behind my swing and what was happening to the ball as a result, sadly I need way more than 50 minutes to fix my swing. Great facilities and he’s using Foresight simulator tech which is nice. I’m definitely going to be back for more lessons. Highly recommended if you want lessons in a nice indoor environment.

Coach Barla has been teaching our son for many years – both in camps, private lessons, and group classes. I have been a teacher for 25 years, and I can say that Coach Barla ranks among the best teachers I’ve ever seen. He knows how to relate to and motivate all types of students, and his knowledge and skill at golf are incredible. He is a kind family man who tells great dad jokes, too! Thanks, Coach Scott!

Today was my first visit to get fitted for new clubs. Scott was great. He took time to explain every step he took with me and also gave me choices. I walked out with a complete understanding of what I need in my bag. I’m going back tomorrow to finish the fitting, and also sign up for lessons. I recommend him to anyone wanting to put forth the effort to improve their game.

Scott does a great job of coaching to the individual. He understands not everyone will have the same swing or capability and coaches each person to their own ability. He ensures you have actions SGTR each session to get better than you were before. After one session I was able to drop 8 strokes off my game. I plan to continue coming back to him so he can help me continue to get better!
